This week, we had Guest Speak Rotary Means Business Chair Derek Smith Jr! 

This week we had Rotary Means Business Chair Derek Smith Jr. as our Guest Speak and the topic was “Rotary Means Business”. RMB Chair Derek is a member of the Rotary Club of Old Fort, Bahamas. He has been nurturing young persons and business people for the last twenty years with start ups and SME’s (Small & Medium Sized Entrepreneurs). He was also the top 40 under 40 Leaders from the Bahamas! 

 

RMB Chair Derek spoke about the Business Strategic Plan which includes some aspects like: What is Rotary Fellowship, What is Rotary Means Business Vision to name a few. 

 

He also gave us a History of Rotary Means Business, the Rotary Club of San Francisco #2 was the first U.S. Chapter, and the first International Chapter was in 2008. As of 2015, Rotary Means Business is in every part of the World except for Antartica 

 

It’s mission statement is: “Rotary Means Business encourages Rotarians to support the success of their fellow Rotarians by doing business with them, and referring others to them” 

 

Some of the objectives of Rotary Means Business are: Stronger businesses, stronger members, stronger clubs, strong rotary, stronger foundation and stronger communities! 

 

D7020 was charter #60 as of July of last year for Rotary Means Business and RMB Chair Derek is the representative on behalf of District 7020

 

At the end of his presentation, Acting President Jon presented RMB Chair Derek with a Certificate of Appreciation for his wonderful and precise presentation!
