Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle Installs New Board of Directors
 
On June 29th, the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle held its annual Change of Board Ceremony (COB) at Paradise Event Hall, marking the installation of the new Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 Rotary Year.
 
The event was attended by Rotary Mid Isle members, including Claricia Yvette Hart, who served as the 2023-2024 President and will continue to serve a second term as the 2024-2025 president. Special guests included the Honorable Prime Minister of St. Maarten, Dr. Luc Mercelina.
 
The evening’s program featured an address by Rotary District 7020 Assistant Governor Elisia Lake. Paul Harris recognitions were presented to Claricia Hart (PHF+2) and Dr, Augusto Zamora-Perez (PHF+1) for their significant contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
 
President Hart's accomplishments over the past year were highlighted, focusing on her dedication to serving the St. Maarten community and her compassionate and inclusive leadership approach. The ceremony celebrated various service projects from the past year, including the Christmas Hampers Project, First Baby of the Year basket, the Rotary Mid Isle Table Tennis Tournament, the Postpartum Awareness Project in partnership with the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, repainting of a playgrounds at a local school, supporting the installation of fans in local schools, and raising funds for the international eradication of polio through the club’s Ramesh Manek Walkathon for “End Polio Now”, and a joint clean-up project together with the Lion’s Club. Other club’s donations were uniforms for foster children, to Men’s Health and Wellness Foundation, and K1 Brittania’s “Second Chance” program. Following a word of thanks to the outgoing president, Claricia Hart was installed for a second year of presidency.

· Disaster Relief Chair: Grace Linger
 
The evening concluded with a guitar performance by Evan Amatdjais, while DJ Ruby entertained the crowd throughout the night. It was a night of fellowship, and celebration of the club's achievements, and looking forward to another year of service and community involvement.
