On 19th December 2020, the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle donated fully stocked Christmas Bags to persons in need!
The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle packed 40 reusable shopping bags with non perishable food, hygiene items and fresh produce for our Annual Christmas Hamper Project! The items were collected during 3 Christmas Food Drives in November and December. The Club collected over 1,000 items and with the donations received, we were able to buy at least 400 more items of fresh produce like sweet potato, apples, oranges and avocados to include in the bags.

On December 19th 2020, President Grace Linger, Fundraising Chair Wayne Wilkie, Rotarian Reena Manek, Public Image Chair Anjali Manek and Family of Rotary Jai Tewani and Daksha Tewani were present for the distribution of the Christmas Bags.

The first stop was in the District of Belvedere to visit the Senior Citizens of Red Cross. The Club Members and Family of Rotary sang Christmas Carols while donating the bags. The songs were enjoyed by the Seniors, who danced, sang and clapped along! It was a wonderful moment enjoyed by all!

Then, they went to Player Development SXM, where the balance 23 Christmas Bags were donated. These bags were given to families in need.

The final stop, was Safe Haven which is a safe house for women who are in abusive relationships. The Club donated food and hygiene items that were collected in excess during our Food Drives.

A big thank you goes out to the St. Maarten community, Rotarians and Family of Rotary who assisted during the Food Drives, packing of the bags and distribution! And, special thanks also goes out to Cost U Less St. Maarten & Cost Pro for letting us use their outside area for the Food Drives!
