During our weekly Zoom meeting last Tuesday, we had Director of the St. Maarten Vocational Training School Rita Gumbs as our guest speaker. Rita gave us a brief look into the St. Maarten Vocational Training School. She shared about the different programs being offered such as: Automotive, Care, Carpentry, Electrical Installation, Food Service, General Service, Business Administration and Networking & Personal Computer Repair and what the skills that students obtain in every area. Rita indicated that a Care Team works to deliver a program that addresses the academic, social and career needs of every students.
Students that graduate from the SMVTS have several options. Either further their studies at the National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) or get a job. Either way, they thrive in our community.
