Guest speaker on Endowment and Major Gifts
To close of the Rotary Foundation Month, we had during our weekly meeting on Tuesday November 24th District Endowment and Major Gifts Chair, AG David Kirkaldy as our guest speaker. AG David shared about the difference between a Benefactor and a Major Donor. He also explained that when your cumulative donations reach the amount of $25,000, you are recognized as an Arch Klumph Society Member.
When you promise a gift of 1 million dollars or more to the Endowment Fund, you are listed in Rotary’s Annual Report as a Legacy Society Member. David also explained where the funds go. The funds go to:
- End Polio
- Rotary Peace Center
- Disaster Response
- World Fund
- Annual Fund/Share
He also mentioned that 50% of the money given to the Foundation comes back to the District in 3 years’ time.
Your Gift to the Endowment Fund, ensures a steady stream of Financial Support so we can continue to do good in, and change the world, well into the future.
To conclude, AG David quoted PDG Bobby Boden:
“Do your giving while you’re living, so you’ll be knowing where it’s going”.
At the end of his presentation, AG David was presented with a token of appreciation.
